Problem & Context

Teenagers often struggle with stress, anxiety, and emotional overwhelm, but formal mental health systems feels intimidating, inaccessible, or unsafe. Many teens want to vent anonymously before seeking help, while parents and institutions lack visibility into early warning signs.

The gap lies between needing support and being ready to ask for it.

💡

Solution & Iteration

unOkay is a dual-channel mental health platform designed to meet teenagers where they are. It combines a low-pressure, anonymous venting space with a structured pathway to professional help when needed. The system allows teens to express emotions safely while enabling therapists to identify patterns, risk levels, and moments that require intervention - without forcing premature disclosure.

The platform balances emotional safety with accountability, using design to lower the barrier to care.

🎯

Impact & Outcome

The solution reduces friction in accessing mental health support by normalising expression before diagnosis. It increases emotional confidence among teens, enables earlier intervention for therapists, and creates a safer, more gradual bridge between informal coping and formal care - especially in high-stigma contexts.
